Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm
Detail: Families and individuals are invited to walk, run or roll (i.e. wheelchairs, strollers and wagons) the one-mile course while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Ft. Desoto Park. The goal of the event is to raise awareness and money for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) research, education and advocacy. SMA is the leading genetically inherited cause of death in small children. The Walk-n-Roll will be followed by fun activities for young and old, where the entire family can enjoy live demonstrations, music, games and prizes, while learning about the special needs that children living with SMA face each day. The event features celebrity host Steve Jerve, WFLA Channel 8’s Chief Meteorologist, as well as a demonstration by the Tampa Bay Crossfire Power Soccer team. Registration includes a free t-shirt and complimentary breakfast and lunch, provided by Chik-Fil-A.
